Architrave comes from the Greek and Latin words, 'arche' and 'trabs' which come together to mean 'main beam'.

In modern times, Architrave is still used to surround doors as a framework to complete construction and decoration. You will find most buildings using MDF Architrave but in hotels and places a little bit more elaborately decorated , you'll find them using Oak Architrave or Walnut Architrave
